In a recent episode of his GB News show, Nigel Farage, the former leader of the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) and a prominent figure in the Brexit movement, revisited a contentious clash he had with comedian and actor Russell Brand on BBC Question Time nearly a decade ago. During the broadcast, Farage did not hold back in his criticism of Brand, labeling him as “rather rude” and offering some colorful recollections of their fiery exchange.

The discussion resurfaced amidst allegations of sexual assault against Russell Brand, which reportedly occurred between 2006 and 2013, during his time in the spotlight working for media outlets such as the BBC, Channel 4, and starring in Hollywood films. Brand has vehemently denied these allegations.

During his GB News show, Farage shared his thoughts on the controversial comedian, saying, “I’ve got to be honest, I am not a big fan of Russell Brand. He was this hard-left activist, and I finished up being against him on Question Time in 2014.”

Farage then played a clip from their intense confrontation on the BBC program, in which they sparred over the topic of immigration. In the heated debate, Farage accused Brand of evading a question from an audience member regarding whether Britain was “overcrowded.” Brand, in turn, challenged Farage’s stance on immigration.

Following the clip, Farage continued his critique, saying, “Well, that was Russell Brand, and I’ll never forget just before going on air he had his own two personal makeup assistants, and they were combing his chest hair before we went on stage. So I thought he was really rather loud, incredibly coarse, rather rude, probably very badly damaged by drugs.”
